• Report on the Battle of Leyte Gulf written by a crewman aboard the USS Long, one of the other DMSs in Dad's Group. Dad's ship, the Palmer, is not mentioned but it was in all the same action and Dad reports that the report is accurate. A must read!

• More about the PALMER ... one of Dad's enlisted men aboard the PALMER wrote an account of the "War Years". Dad is mentioned in the story near the end. You might be wondering where he came in to the picture. He took over as XO in Mexico after the trip through the Panama canal, then was promoted to CO in Hawaii.
